Folding based on lines

2D lines (or smooth spline lines) are a good starting point of folded structures via stretching. You can create several lines at different position in Z dimension and connect them to a three dimensional surface. The big advantage of this method is that you have a really good control of your design because you can readjust the position of the lines and the position of the vertices inside the lines.
